WoW gold:: warcraft PvP Page

When is the page updated? The page is updated every Tuesday during the weekly realm maintenance.
How many players are listed for each realm? The top 1000 players are shown for each realm.
Why am I unable to find my name on the realm I play on? Only the top 1000 characters are listed for each realm. If your character isn't shown, it doesn't rank in the top 1000 - keep fighting!
What is the "rating" and how is it calculated? A character's rating translates directly into their rank, and how far into that rank they are (ie: a rating of 65,000 means that character is the highest possible rank 14 character). Each character's rating is calculated by how many honor points they have, compared against all other characters on that realm.
In game, my standing displays something different on the web page? In game, the standing displayed is that characters standing for the previous week. The standing on the web page displays a character's overall, lifetime standing.
I have more honorable kills than someone else. Why does that player have a higher standing than I? Honorable kills are not the only factor that determines a characters standing. The honor points a character receives from honorable kills are added to other factors, including honor points received for completing objectives in battlegrounds, to determine overall standing.
Do you plan on listing more than 1,000 players per realm? Not at this time.
Do you plan on adding more features? Yes. We have plans for additional features for the World of Warcraft community web site. This is only the beginning.
Why is my guild name incorrect? There is a bug affecting certain characters that is causing the wrong guild name to appear. We are working to resolve the issue as fast as possible.
Recently, I moved off a realm but my character is still displayed on the old realm? This is a bug. We are working to resolve the issue as fast as possible.

WoW gold:: Quests

Will quests vary in difficulty? Yes, at each level there will be quests that vary in their degree of difficulty. Of course easier quests will give lower experience and/or lesser items whereas the harder quests will give high experience and/or more desired items.
There will also be "elite" quests in the game. Elite quests will yield much more experience than normal quests and the rewards will be exceptional as well. It will generally take a group (or in some cases, groups) of people to complete an elite quest.
Will there be group quests available? Yes, most definitely.
Will each member of a group receive a quest reward if they participated in completing a quest? If each member of the group accepted the quest from the quest-giver, each member would also receive the quest reward.
What happens when a player fails to complete a quest? Will there be an option to try that quest again? Yes, players can always go back to the quest giver and try again.
Will there be quests that take you to enemy towns and/or cities? (For example, can a Rogue get to sneak in, steal stuff, and sneak out for a quest?) Yes, there are quests in the game that take you into enemy towns.
Will there be Epic Quests? Yes! We're calling them Life Quests.
Will there be very large or continued quests that take a lot of steps to fully complete? Heck yeah! There will be "small" multipart quests, which you might be able to finish in several days, and epic "life quests" that will span your entire adventuring career.

WoW gold:: skill

Characters have access to a huge variety of both class-specific skills (class skills) and general-use skills, called professions. Class skills are determined by your character class and are an integral part of your character. For example, a warrior's sword skill, axe skill, and mace skill are all considered class skills. There are also a wide variety of professions available to all players regardless of class, allowing players to customize their skill set. Examples of professions include alchemy, blacksmithing, and herbalism, to name a few.
Can you tell us more about professions? Professions are learned from various trainers around the world. Some professions will be rare and hard to find trainers for, while others will be much more common, with trainers located in multiple cities. Professions can be broken into two tiers: primary professions and secondary professions. Players can learn a maximum of two primary professions. In order to learn a new primary profession, a player must unlearn one of his or her existing primary professions first. Secondary professions are less versatile and robust than primary professions, but there is no limit to the number of secondary professions you can learn.
How do you improve your skills and professions? Players improve their class skills through a combination of usage and leveling. Class skills related to a character's class abilities, such as a mage's frost skill, which improves his frost spells, automatically increase when a character levels. However, weapon and defense skills only improve through usage. Thus, in order to improve your ability with swords, you must equip and fight with a sword. Professions operate similarly. In order to increase your skill level in a profession, you must use it. For class skills, even those that you increase manually, your character level dictates the maximum skill level you can have in a particular skill. For professions, your profession rank - apprentice, journeyman, expert, and artisan - determines your maximum skill level.
Is there a way to retrain talent or skill points? Yes. If you unlearn a profession, you can return to a trainer and relearn it. However, your skill level will be rest to zero and you must increase it yourself.
Do skills atrophy if they aren't used? No. Once you learn a skill, it's yours for life unless you decide to unlearn it.
Is a Hunter who trains in bows and rifles better than say a Warrior who also trains to the same level in said weapons? Both classes have the bow and rifle skills; however, the Hunter has unique class abilities that improve or enhance his attacks with bows and rifles. These additional abilities are what ultimately make Hunters more powerful with ranged weapons than Warriors.
Can players create their own items using trade skills? World of Warcraft features a wide variety of professions that let players gather resources from the world to create numerous unique items. Players can make bags, bandages, weapons, armor, potions, and many other things.
What kinds of fish can you catch with the fishing profession? Are there special items, treasure chests, or S.O.S. bottles that you can catch while fishing? In addition to a wide variety of different fishes, players can also catch things like lockboxes, crates of engineering supplies, unique armor, and weapons. However, the chances of this happening are exceedingly rare.
How many professions can a player master on an individual character? A player will be limited to two primary professions. You can have as many secondary professions as you want.

Misc.

Will one class have an advantage over the others? Some classes seem to be better equipped for gaining honor than others; was that taken into consideration? During our testing we did not come across any one class that had a distinct advantage over the others. Each class has an equal chance of rising through the ranks depending on how it is played. Keep in mind that the number of honorable kills that a player makes does not determine the rate at which ranks are gained, only that a fair kill was made. That should help alleviate some of the fears about certain classes being better than others. The more a player participates in player-vs-player battles, the higher the rank will be.
Currently the realm crashes if there are too many people in one place, like Tarren Mill. How did you prepare the realms to deal with the added amount of stress that is going to be added with more frequent large scale PvP battles? For the time being the lag generated will be greater than normal. This should not last very long, as Battlegrounds will be released in the next patch! The Honor System has been anticipated for some time now, and now that it is released everyone is eager to jump in and try it out! Once the Battlegrounds go live they will draw players away from towns like Crossroads and Tarren Mill and into the instanced environments designed to support large scale player-vs-player battles.
It seems that some realms have way more Alliance than Horde members. How will this affect the Honor System ? Contrary to popular belief, the numbers of Horde and Alliance are very similar on player-vs-player realms. Also, most players will be fighting for honor in Battlegrounds once they are released. The Battlegrounds will have a controlled number on both sides, so the overall realm balance should not affect either faction's abaility to gain Honor.
How am I supposed to play the game when every where I go someone is waiting to gank me? The graveyard is nice, but I want to see the rest of the world too! Once Battlegrounds are released the amount of player-vs-player conflicts found around the world will most likely decrease significantly. The same goes for ganking found in the contested zones around Azeroth. Fighting in the Battlegrounds will yeild far more honor than fighting anywhere else. With that said, players who chose to create characters on a PvP realm are supposed to feel a sense of danger where ever they go, that is why we offer player-vs-player realms!

Gaining Honor

What is the Honor System? The Honor System allows players to gain rankings based on their PvP performance, with lucrative rewards for those who distinguish themselves on the field of battle! Read more about the PvP Honor System .
How do I gain rank in the Honor System? Players advance in rank by helping to defeat players of the opposite faction (Horde/Alliance), or by vanquishing special target NPC's in the game, which ultimately confers honor.
The amount of damage a player deals to their target determines the amount of honor they earn. Contributing more damage yields more points, and less honor yields fewer points. Causing slight damage to multiple targets may not net as many points as causing severe damage to a single target. Also, the target must die and the kill must be honorable in order for honor points to be awarded.
What is an honorable kill? An honorable kill occurs when a player takes part in the killing of an appropriate player or NPC in the player's level range. The color system for players works the same as it does for monsters. Grey level players will not yield an honorable kill.
Also, only specific NPC's will yield honorable kills. These are special target NPC's that are extremely difficult for players to attack, as they are some of the main leaders of each player faction. Defeating these NPC's will require a large force of players.
What is a 'Dishonorable kill'? Any NPC that is marked with the green word 'Civilian' in its tooltip is considered a 'dishonorable kill'. The 'Civilian' marking will be applied to general NPC's such as vendors and quest NPCs as the level of the player begins to exceed the level of the NPC. This means that players of the appropriate level are allowed to kill general NPC's that are considered to present a fair fight.
Can I earn honor if I am in a group? Yes. When grouped with other players, honor are divided equally amongst the members of the party. Just like in groups for killing monsters, players can gain bonus experience for killing players while in a group. If the character levels of some group members are significantly higher than others, the amount of honor gained by the lower level members will be reduced, just like it is with monster experience.
What if I do less damage than the rest of my group, say through healing, damage over time, or area-of-effect spells? Do I still get the same amount of honor as my group? Yes. Players who are grouped in a party equally split the honor they earn. The Priest who heals will receive an equal share of points as the Warrior who is swinging away at the target.
What happens if we take out a faction leader in a raid group? Who gets the honor? Members of the raid group that taps the creature will share the honor points equally. The points will be distributed the same way as experience points. It should be noted, however, that strategic targets are there to promote conflict and role-play between the Alliance and Horde, so players will find that killing enemy leaders will not be a disproportionately large source of honor.
If I am a raid leader, will I receive more honor than other non-leader raid group members? No. Honor is divided equally among all raid-party members.
If I am on the other end of the battlefield as my party or raid group, will I still get honor for any kills they make? No. Earning honor falls within the normal rules of experience gain. Players must be in the general area to receive the honor.
How many points do I need to get my next rank? This is one area where the PvP and normal experience system differ. There is no set amount of honor needed to reach a certain level. The PvP ranking system is based on the number of players engaging in PvP combat, and how good each player is in relation to other players.
Think of the PvP rankings as a curve, where the highest ranks will encompass the top percentage of players. While there are a finite amount of players who can be in the top ranks, the actual number will depend on how many other characters on the server are involved in PvP. The more players competing, the more players will be able to reach the top ranks.
How does my PvP Rank update? PvP ranks are compiled once a week, and will coincide with the weekly server maintenance. There is a minimum number of honorable kills per week required for eligibility; this number is flexible and depends on the average number of honorable kills for your realm that week.
Based on the number of honor received per week and the amount of people involved in PvP combat, a rating value is assessed for each player. This value is used to determine progression through the PvP ranks.
Will I get credit for killing guards? Based on player feedback we have decided to no longer award honorable kills for killing NPCs that are not racial leaders. This will prevent players from feeling as though they need to "grind" NPC kills for honor. This change will also help the honorable kill totals mean more than they otherwise would.
What happens if I am fighting a player and that player runs away, then another player or group finds the player and kills him or her? Do I get any honor having damaged the player first? No. If a player does not take damage for 1 minute since the last time they were attacked in PvP, any damage done by the first player is null and void. The next player or group who finds and kills the target gets the credit.
Will there be additional honor gained for rapid-fire killing? For instance, three honorable kills in thirty seconds. There are no current plans to reward players for going on killing sprees, other than the normal honor they earn.
Will there be a survival bonus? For instance, each kill beyond the first without dying equates to more honor. This will not be a feature upon initial implementation of the Honor System, but is a possible candidate for continued refinement.
So far it seems like the Honor System is designed for players who can devote large amounts of time to the game. What if I am a casual player who cannot devote so much time? Since the majority of players in WoW are casual gamers, the majority of player will be competing against players of a similar skill level and playtime. We expect many players to be surprised at how viable they will be in the Honor System.
Rewards
What incentives do I have to gain high ranks in the Honor System? By killing other players and racking up honor, players will gain access to the Officer's barracks in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Each new rank players gain will open up new items, weapons, and armor for them to use. Along with the new items players will also have their current Honor Rank displayed for all to see. Will the rewards ever include new spells or talents for characters of higher ranks? No. Currently we do not have any plans to reward players with new talents or spells.
Will my title be visible to those around me? Yes. Players will be able to see other player titles as part of their names. In addition, players may view others' honor tabs through the inspect feature.
The previews on the website showed a few weapons and armor. Is that all we will be able to obtain? No. The preview displayed just a few of the rewards. More rewards will be available in game.

WoW gold:: warcraft Support

Will players have the opportunity to provide feedback about the development of the game? Yes. Players will always be able to share their input via the forums and in-game /suggest command.
Do you plan to create additional content after the game is released? Yes. We are completely dedicated to evolving the world with additional content after the game ships. Our plan is to keep an active in-house development team dedicated to providing new content on a regular basis. Our plans include opening new lands, introducing new monsters and items along with incorporating new quests and ultimately evolving the overall story of the World of Warcraft.
Will World of Warcraft have new features added each month? The World of Warcraft is envisioned to be a constantly evolving place, so the introduction of new monsters, items, places to visit and even different types of game play experiences are all in the long-term plans for the game. It would be impossible for us to determine the timing on rolling out these ideas now, but we do intend to keep the game in a state of active change.
Will patches be released around the world months apart as has been the case in some other games? Blizzard is striving to have patches released simultaneously all around the world. From time to time there may be some delays, but it's anticipated that these delays would be minimal.
What is a Game Master (GM) and how will they enhance my gameplay experience? In World of Warcraft, Game Masters or GMs are members of our customer support department who will be responsible for assisting players with questions regarding gameplay and/or technical issues. We understand the importance of customer support and community building, therefore this will be one of our primary focuses during the beta test program and after the product goes live.
Will there be a guide/volunteer program in World of Warcraft? No.
Will there be special events held in the game for holidays? Yes! There will be special events held for both "real" holidays and special days created in World of Warcraft.
What will you do to prevent cheating? The development team is currently doing everything it can to eliminate the possibility of cheating. Also, because the game requires gamers to have a personal account to play, we will be able to identify and track cheaters much more closely. World of Warcraft has many features specifically designed to detect, identify and prevent cheating and hacking in the game. Additional resources - particularly the implementation of a live team of Gamemasters to monitor play - will provide security far beyond what we can currently offer for Battle.net?. As always, we will constantly look for ways to make the experience of our customers better and more secure, and as we continue to find new methods of doing so, we will certainly pursue and implement them.
Since the game will have a language filter, can we curse/swear as much as we want? Even though there is a language filter, excessive, unsolicited or inappropriate language will not be tolerated.
How does Blizzard plan on dealing with the selling of items on Ebay? The selling of characters or items is not a feature supported in World of Warcraft. Any users that choose to participate in this activity do so at

WoW gold:: Transportation

Can you give more details on the different modes of transportation in World of Warcraft? In World of Warcraft, you will have the opportunity to use several different modes of transportation. Early on, you'll get to explore the beautiful environments on foot, but once you discover certain NPCs, you'll be able to hire flying mounts such as Gryphons and Wyverns from them for a fee. These mounts cover regular routes; utilizing them will make it easier for you to quickly travel between locations you have already explored. Along with these taxi-style transports, there are also boats and zeppelins that can be chartered for intercontinental travel.
Personal mounts, specific to each race, will also be available to characters at higher levels. For instance, Orcs will ride dire wolves, Humans will ride horses, and Dwarves will ride battle rams. Though it will be somewhat challenging to do so, characters can also learn how to ride the mounts of races other than their own. In addition, "epic" and magical forms of travel can be discovered in the game, such as ancient portals and player-based rituals, that can be used for instant travel to exotic locations.
How do mounts work in World of Warcraft? World of Warcraft offers a variety of mounts for the different races of Azeroth (the world on which the game takes place). For example, Humans generally ride horses, and Orcs tend to favor their trusted wolf mounts. Mounts are a great way to travel the world for mid-to-high-level characters. With extensive training, riding specialists will be able to use mounts not generally available to their particular race, but this ability will be rare.
When can players get their own mount? The level requirement is 40. Players also must learn a riding skill which requires both a good reputation toward the faction of the trainer for that specific mount, and will also cost you a fee. At level 60, you can gain access to a faster mount, which is very expensive, so prepare yourself to spare gold soon enough if you plan acquiring the faster mount.
How will players use mounts? Mounts become available to each race at a high level, and they can be "called" when needed by the owner. We also have other specialty mounts. A high-level Warlock, for example, can summon a Felsteed.
Can players own or operate ships? At this time, all ships are owned and operated by NPCs within the game.
Can players drive or ride vehicles/mounts? We include several personal modes of transportation, including horses, wolves, and more. We also include many vehicles including ships, zeppelins, and Gryphons that will provide quick and easy travel throughout the world. Read the Mounts page and the Public Transportation page to learn more about this.
I was wondering if extremely high-level characters in World of Warcraft would be able to control more powerful mounts - like a dragon or a wyvern? Since announcing the availability of mounts in the game, players have been sharing their excitement with us about all the possibilities that exist in the Warcraft universe. We do allow players to ride Gryphons, but only between set points in the world that they are trained to seek out. We have no plans to allow players to fly around the world of Azeroth without some such constraint, but we will also have much more than mere horses for players to ride. You didn't think we would have orc riders without giant wolves did you?

WoW gold:: spells

All character classes in World of Warcraft have access to spells and/or special abilities. As characters advance in level, they can purchase, train, or find new spells and add them to their spell book and/or ability book. Casting spells and using special abilities generally requires mana, energy, or rage and may sometimes require one or more reagents.
Are there "crowd control" spells like sleep, confuse, mesmerize, etc.? Yes. In addition to crowd-control spells such as these, there will be a wide assortment of other spells and abilities that will vary the tactics players can use to defeat monsters. Some examples are Fear, Mind Soothe, and Mind Control. Remember, though, that the monsters will have access to these spells too.
Can you give us more details about group spells and/or rituals? One example of a group spell is the Warlock's ritual of summoning. This spell summons a distant party member to the Warlock's location. In order to complete the spell, the Warlock must first channel the spell while two other party members then touch the portal. After all three do this, the spell is complete and the party member soon appears at the spot of the portal.
Will there be emotes such as waving, bowing, etc? We expect to have a full spectrum of role-playing emotes within the game.
Can a summoner destroy their own summoned pets before the time limit is up? Yes, controlled pets can be dismissed.
When a character is invisible/stealthed/shadowmelded, can other players in the same group see them? Yes, not only will players in the group be able to see them (they will be faded out), but anyone in the same faction will as well. They will only go unseen to NPCs and players in the opposing faction. For example, Alliance players will be able to see a shadowmelded Night Elf, but not a stealthed troll rogue.
If invisible enemies are seen by one person in a group, can the rest of the group also detect them? No, however there will be ways for those that see the enemy to "expose" them to others.
Can you cast a spell while running or falling? There are a few spells that can be cast while "on the move.
Does the game have emotes such as waving, bowing, etc? World of Warcraft has a full spectrum of role-playing emotes within the game. You can wave, cry, bow, dance, and perform many other emotes.

percentages for each level

When hit by a spell, you have two chances to resist the spell. The first chance is based on your level. If you are much higher level than the attacking caster, you will have a significant chance to resist the caster's spell, but if you are much lower level, you will have a minimal chance to resist the spell (minimum of 1%). If you make this resistance chance, you are completely unaffected by the spell. The second chance to resist is based on your resistance score and the level of the caster. The higher your resistance score in relation to the level of the attacking caster, the higher your average resistance percentage, up to a maximum of 75%. Against most spells, this resistance percentage is the straight % chance to completely resist the spell. Against direct-damage spells (spells that deliver their full damage upon impact, such as Fireball, Mind Blast, and Earth Shock), this resistance is the percentage of damage you will resist on average.
When you are hit by a direct-damage spell, you have a chance to resist 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, or 0% of the spell's damage, depending on your resistance score in relation to the level of the attacking caster. Your average percentage of damage resisted is the weighted average of your resistance percentages for each level of damage resistance (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, and 0%). Using, as an example, a fire resistance score of 250 vs. a level-50 mage's fire spell, you would on average resist roughly 75% of the damage of that spell (as can be deduced by calculating the weighted average for the corresponding column in the example table below). To further the example, if you had fire resistance of 100, you would, on average, resist roughly 30% of the spell's damage.
Here is an example of how various resistance scores play out against level-50 spells:
Resistance Score 50 100 150 200 250 Chance to Resist Spell 15% 30% 45% 60% 75%
Resistance Score 50 100 150 200 250 Chance to Resist Spell 0% 1% 1% 11% 25% Chance to Resist 100% Damage 0% 1% 1% 11% 25% Chance to Resist 75% Damage 2% 6% 18% 34% 55% Chance to Resist 50% Damage 11% 24% 48% 40% 16% Chance to Resist 25% Damage 33% 49% 26% 14% 3% Chance to Take Full Damage 54% 20% 7% 1% 1%

from the day before. On the

The Rest State modifier gives players a time-limited bonus to combat (PvE) experience. This frees up time for exploring other aspects of the game without penalty, such as tradeskilling and social activities, and helps players avoid level-grinding. Inns serve as a good place to hang up your sword or staff for the night because they confer special bonuses. Inns also act as home locations. Hearthstones provide a speedy way to travel back to an Inn when you need to take care of business in town, or when you're ready to check in and call it a night.
Rest State
The Rest state modifier only affects experience earned from killing monsters. It does not affect experience earned from quest rewards or other experience rewards in the game (such as future PvP experience rewards). As players kill monsters and gain experience points, they become increasingly tired. Their rest level reflects this tiredness in two tiers: Rested = 200% experience and Normal = 100% experience. At level one, players will all start in the normal tier. When a player rests in a city or at an inn they will gain rest bonus at a very slow rate. Eight hours of rest will be needed for a player to gain one "bubble" of rest bonus. At any given time, players will be able to accumulate a maximum of 30 "bubbles" worth of rest bonus which translates into approximately 1.5 levels worth of rested play (before your character returns to normal rest state). Rested players receive bonus experience points for killing monsters. Normal players receive no bonus experience points for killing monsters. To become rested and start earning bonus experience from killing monsters again, players must rest for many hours. Thanks to the comforts of a warm bed and a hearty meal, players who rest or log out at an Inn will accumulate rest credit four times faster than players logged off outside of an Inn or City. Players who log out anywhere else in the world will earn rest credit four times slower. Note that while your character is resting at an Inn, you can play other characters on your account. The Rest State is per character only. Players have the ability to rest anywhere in the world. This helps players who forget or choose not to log off at an Inn. Resting at an Inn is still the preferred method, as rest credit will accumulate four times faster for players logged off inside of an Inn. There is no penalty for leaving an Inn early. You are constantly accumulating bonus experience while in an Inn or City. If you leave and come back, the only time lost is the time you were outside. Most players will be in the Normal experience tier most of the time. The Rested tier is primarily intended for players that take a day or more off from playing or are very casual with their play schedules. This has enabled us to greatly reduce the experience necessary for all players to level regardless of which rest state tier they play under.

Enter the City to Rest
hen visiting one of the six main cities (Darnassus, Ironforge, Orgrimmar, Stormwind, Thunder Bluff and The Undercity), players do not need to check into the Inn to rest. Players will however still need to seek an Innkeeper to receive a Hearthstone or to bind themselves to the city. You will still need to rest at an Inn in smaller towns.
Players can rest or log out at any Inn in the world. [No Vacancy] Inns are located in all major cities and some towns. Whenever players enter a Major City or Inn or log out in a Major City or Inn, they will effectively be "resting", which is indicated by their portrait flashing yellow. Players can leave an Inn at any time and continue fighting monsters; the experience they gain will be based on the Rest level that they have rested up to. If players log out in an Inn, they will be able to instantly exit the game as opposed to having to wait 20 seconds before exiting. When players log in to play the next day, their rested characters will have slept off the ill effects of any nasty debuffs from the day before. On the other hand, the buffs won't wear off before their normal term. Logging out pauses the timers for all the positive buffs.
Players use Hearthstones (an inventory item) to cast a spell that teleports them back to their "home locations". Casting the spell will take a reasonable amount of time, to prevent it from being used as an escape mechanism from combat. [No good]"Checking in" with an Innkeeper will make that Inn the player's current home location, and the player's Hearthstone will then take the player back to that Inn (as opposed to any previous home locations). If the player doesn't have a Hearthstone, the Innkeeper will provide one at no cost. Because Hearthstones let players quickly return to town, players can easily log off from within an Inn when they're done playing for the night (or day). If they so choose, players can also use Hearthstones just to return to town to sell items, trade, or train. However, Hearthstones can only be used once per hour.Starting characters have Hearthstones automatically located in their inventory.

Dungeons If you die in an instanced

What happens when player characters die? They become ghosts! When a player dies, he or she will be prompted with a dialogue box to "Release Spirit." Pressing this button will instantly transport the player to the nearest graveyard. The player will then be transformed into a ghost. On death, all equipped items will lose 10% durability.
As a ghost, you have three options:
You can return to your corpse and recover it.
You can have a fellow player (Paladin, Shaman, Priest, Druid) resurrect you, or use a Warlock's Soulstone, which will bring you back to life next to that player. There are also items in the game that allow players of any class to resurrect you. You will not lose any experience when resurrected by another player. Also, you can be resurrected by other players even after you have released your spirit back to the graveyard.
You can talk to a spirit healer NPC (currently located at graveyards) to immediately resurrect yourself at the spirit healer's location. If you choose this option all items (equipped and inventory) will take 25% durability loss and the character will gain resurrection sickness for a duration that scale according to level. The length of resurrection sickness suffered from using the Spirit Healer is set to a maximum of 10 minutes. Being a Ghost
Players have special characteristics while in ghost form:
Players appear in a black & white world while dead. Tyrael's sister?I see dead people Players are ethereal in appearance. In ghost form, players are unable to interact with most things in the world.Ghosts will neither be seen by nor see living players and most creatures, other than those creatures that are in the immediate area surrounding their corpses.Ghosts can see other ghosts.Ghosts can run faster, which makes it easier to return to where they died. They can also levitate over water. A few special creatures may be able to see ghosts (these will be apparent to players), and they can attack players in ghost form.If players do die in ghost form, they will be transported back to the most recent graveyard that they were at (not the graveyard nearest to where their ghosts just died, if different). "Public chat" is not available to ghosts, but "private chat" such as /tells, /guild, and /party chat are still allowed.Players can't use ghost form as a means to travel to far off locations. Having a spirit healer resurrect you in a graveyard other than the one you appeared at when you died will always teleport you back to that initial graveyard.Spirit healers are ghosts and can only be seen by players in ghost form.Player corpses turn into race-specific skeletons as they decay. When a player dies in an instance and then uses the spirit healer, the body in the instance now turns to bones. When a ghost player is resurrected into an instance that has become full, they no longer come to life wherever their ghost happens to be standing. Instead, they get ported to the closest graveyard.
This screenshot doesn't actually haveanything to do with the death system, but it's kinda cool and death related Finding Your Corpse When you are a ghost, it is easy to find your corpse. An arrow is placed on your minimap, directing you to your corpse. Once you get near the corpse, a special icon also appears on the minimap to show you the corpse's exact location.
Reviving as a Ghost Once you approach your corpse, you will see any monsters that are near it. You do not have to reincorporate directly on the spot where your corpse is. As you come closer to your corpse, a dialogue box will pop up, asking if you are ready to be revived. You'll then be able to pick a safe location near your corpse to come back to life. Players that revive will have 50% health and mana.
Dungeons If you die in an instanced portion of a dungeon, crossing the instance line into that dungeon as a ghost counts as reclaiming your corpse. You don't have to go all the way back in to find it, and it doesn't matter if your particular instance no longer exists. You cannot explore the dungeon in ghost form. Also, your ghost may not enter an instanced dungeon in which you do not have an active corpse.
Other Information Players do not need to manually bind at the graveyard. The game selects the nearest graveyard automatically.

You can also use the Armory to find good talent builds from top players.

Once a character achieves tenth level, it will begin earning talent points at the rate of one per level. Talent points can then be spent at the Talents window. Every class has three lines of talents, not including a character's racial talents list. Talent points can be spent to purchase talents, which can do a variety of things. Many talents can improve your class' existing abilities, give you new abilities, or improve your class skills. All classes have the same talent options, but no single character can hope to acquire every single talent. Thus, there are many talent choices open to your character, and your choices will help differentiate you from other players playing the same class.
Choosing Talents
very class has three categories of talents that are organized by your class abilities. Mages, for instance, rely primarily on their spells, which are broken up into the arcane, frost, and fire schools. Thus, the mage's talent categories are arcane, frost, and fire. Each category can be accessed using the tabs at the bottom of the Talents window. Talents are bought on a one-to-one ratio. One talent point spent on a talent gives you one rank in a talent. You do not accrue talent points until you have advanced past the first few levels of gameplay.
The talent system is tiered. There are low-level talents you must buy and master before you can learn high-level talents. However, you can see all talents in a category, and see the paths leading to all talents. In addition, mousing over any talent tells you what the talent does and what requirements you must meet to learn it. Talents that are grayed out cannot be learned, either because you have no talent points to spend or because you do not have enough mastery of other talents. Talents do not have level limits.
Learning Talents
o learn a talent, mouse over the talent first and decide if it is right for you. Talents are difficult to unlearn, so you should be sure before you commit to one. You can visit a class trainer to unlearn your talents. It will cost money to unlearn your talents in an increasing amount until it reaches a high cap. This is to prevent players from changing their talents daily and devaluing the choices that must be made. Also keep in mind that you cannot learn every single talent, so you should make a choice about which talents or what category of talents you want to learn. When you decide on a talent, left-click on it to learn it. There is no confirmation of your pick. Once you click on it, you buy it. If by purchasing the talent you open new avenues of talents, the newly unlocked talents will turn from gray to bright. All classes have talents that allow the player to customize their character. Talents can be applied in the following ways:
To improve a class' existing spells or abilities. To alter the functionality of existing class spells or abilities. To acquire new spells and abilities. To improve class skills. The three lines of class talents are geared towards each class' main strengths. For example, mages naturally divide their talents into arcane, frost, and fire, which mimic the three main schools of magic mages learn. Warriors have the talent lines of arms, fury, and protection. Each category of talents is designed like a tree, with new talents branching out from a core set of base talents you can learn at low levels. Within each tree, a character can learn talents that make that character more effective in all the abilities and capabilities that fall under the heading of that talent tree. The frost line of talents, for example, enhances a mage's proficiency with frost spells. The warrior's protection talents improve the warrior's taunt and defensive abilities. No player can ever hope to become a master of all three lines of talents. In fact, with dozens of talents per line, and multiple ranks to each talent, the most a character could hope to fully master is one talent tree, and a little of another one. Talents can be seen by clicking on the Talents button or pressing the hotkey N. Mouse over each talent to receive a description of what it is and how to use it. Be sure to peruse your class' entire array of talents before choosing them. It helps to have a goal or general theme for your character when purchasing talents, rather than picking them haphazardly. Of course, there is nothing wrong with experimentation, but you may find it wise to research all your class' talents before purchasing them. The talent calculators are provided so that you can plan out your points prior to spending them. You can also use the Armory to find good talent builds from top players.

Other Information
Combat-related
Pets: Hunter and warlock pets gain benefits from certain attributes of their masters. The master's Stamina, Intellect, and Armor will increase her pet's Stamina, Intellect, and Armor respectively. In addition, a player's Attack Power increases the Attack Power and Spell Damage of hunter pets and shaman earth elementals, while a player's Spell Damage increases the Attack Power and Spell Damage of all other pets.
Critical Hits: Critical hits do significantly more damage than a normal hit. A critical hit will appear as an extra-large number over the target's head. For all classes, Agility will enhance the chance to critically hit with weapons, while Intellect will increase the chance to critically hit with spells.
Mana Regeneration: You will gain the full benefit of your Spirit bonus to Mana regeneration beginning five seconds after your last spellcast, both in and out of combat. Your Mana will normally not regenerate for the first five seconds after casting a spell, unless you have a talent, ability, or item bonus that does so. Items that grant Mana regeneration per 5 seconds work at all times, even within the five second rule.Dual-wielding weapons: Your total damage output when fighting with two weapons should be higher than fighting with one weapon and a shield, but roughly equal to fighting with a two-handed weapon. Off-hand attacks deal 50% of the weapon's designated damage. Therefore, it's wise to put your hardest-hitting weapon in your main hand.
Raising attributes and skillsCharacter attributes are raised automatically when leveling. Attributes rise by fixed values depending on your character's race and class. Skills are raised by performing the skill in question. For example, by attacking with a type of weapon, you will gradually increase that weapon's skill until it reaches its current cap. The same applies to professions and secondary skills. The skill cap for combat skills goes up by 5 per level to a max of 350 at level 70. Profession and secondary skill caps are raised by receiving training from special NPCs.
TalentsTalents give you another way to customize your character by choosing what areas of your class to specialize in. Starting at level 10, you can open the talent interface by pressing the "Talents" button, which resides next to the "Spellbook and Abilities" button, or by pressing the "N" default hotkey. If you wish to change your talents, you can do so by visiting any class trainer and selecting the dialogue option. It costs gold to unlearn your talents, and the cost escalates each time you do so. However, the cost to unlearn talents also decays over time. Read more about talents in our talents section.
TitlesIf your character has earned a title, you can select to display it from a drop-down menu on your character screen. Once selected, the title will be shown in front of your character's name. Here are some of the available titles currently in the game:
PvP Ranks: Under the original PvP ranking system in World of Warcraft, rank titles could earned through PvP. These rank titles can no longer be obtained with the changes to the PvP system. However, the highest rank you obtained under the old system can still be displayed. Scarab Lord - This title is granted to the character who opens the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj on his or her realm. Thus, this title is only obtainable by one character per realm. Arena Titles: Members of the top teams at the end of the season will receive special titles to honor their achievement (highest to lowest): Gladiator Duelist Rival Challenger

Your first few levels

Now that you've entered the world, you will find yourself in the starter area specific to your character's race. The following tips will help you through the first few levels in your new adventuring career.
Use the in-game help menuThe in-game help system is designed to teach the basics of the interface and the game mechanics. Click on the flashing exclamation marks that appear near the bottom of your screen. In addition, the red question mark on your main menu bar at the bottom of your screen will open the GM assistance menu. Learn the controlsYou should first familiarize yourself with the interface. If you're unsure how to control any aspect of your character, go to the Interface menu in the Options menu. Besides changing how you move your character, you can change any key binding to your liking.
Load up your quest logQuest givers have exclamation marks over their heads. There will be some in your immediate vicinity, and you will find more as you explore more of your surroundings. Pick up as many quests as possible. Hit your "L" key to bring up your quest log, which will display all the quests you have accepted as well as their objectives. It's a good idea to do several quests at the same time if possible, when multiple quest objectives take place from defeating the same foes or in the same general area.
Find your class trainerOne of the first quests you will be offered will direct you to your class trainer. The class trainers that you will encounter in the game's capital cities are where you can learn new skills and spells for your character. The class trainer in the starter areas will always be close to the first group of questgivers.
CombatRight-clicking on an enemy will attack it with your weapon. To use spells or abilities, click the buttons on your action bar at the bottom left of your screen. At times you may need to run from combat if you are in over your head. After chasing you for a short distance, the monsters will return to where they were.
Regaining health and manaFood and drink will replenish your character's health and mana. By default, your character will start with a small supply of food and/or water, which you can consume by clicking on their icons in your action bar. You are unable to eat or drink when your character is considered in combat, and moving or entering combat will cancel the effect.
Leveling upEvery time your character gains a level, you get an increase in stats. Every even numbered level, your character gains access to new skills, which can be learned at your class trainer. At level 10, your character begins gaining a talent point per level, which can be used to learn new talents. Access your talents page by hitting the "n" key.
Using new abilities or spellsYou can move new abilities to your action bar for ease of use. Open the abilities panel by pressing the appropriate button on your main menu bar at the bottom of the screen (or hit "P"). Once you find the ability you want to place in your hotbar, simply click and drag in into an open spot. You can also use a spell or ability from the abilities page by clicking on it.
Moving to a new areaAfter you've finished the first few quests, you will be given a quest to move to a different quest hub. This is usually a small town of some sort, with vendors, class and profession trainers, an inn, and a mailbox. When you arrive at the inn, its a good idea to bind your hearthstone there by talking to the innkeeper. This will allow you to teleport to the inn by using your hearthstone.
Learning professionsIf you've decided what professions you wish to learn, you will be able to learn them from the profession trainers near the starting area. You can learn up to two main professions (such as mining, leatherworking, and herbalism) but all of the secondary professions of fishing, cooking, and first aid. First aid is a particularly useful profession for new characters, regardless of class. If you're undecided as to which primary professions to take, there's no need to make a decision now as trainers are readily accessible in the capital cities. On the other hand, you can always unlearn a primary profession if you change your mind along the way.
Finding the closest cityYour quests will eventually lead you into your race's capital city. Each capital has a bank, auction house, class and profession trainers, a flightmaster, and many other areas to conduct business and associate with others. It is where you will also find transportation to other capitals, whether by boat, air taxi, or zeppelin.
Reputation changesYou can look at your reputation with different groups in the world in the character panel under the reputation tab. This will show what they think about you and how they will react. You can change your reputation through various methods in the game such as combat and quests.
Storage spaceBag space will be a premium in the early levels. Your initial backpack holds up to 16 items, but you may find that it fills up all too quickly. If you access a bank at a capital city you can unload items such as tradeskill materials you may wish to simply store for the future. In addition, you can acquire more bags for your character by either buying them or making them. Tailors can make their own bags, which is a very useful ability. You can also buy bags from NPC vendors and from other players. The bags you can purchase from player tailors will frequently be less expensive. Place an empty bag in one of the bag slots on the lower right part of your screen to use it.
Communicating with other playersCommunicating with others is one of the core elements of World of Warcraft. To speak to players in your immediate vicinity, hit the enter button, type your message, then hit enter again. Players that are near you will see your message. To send a player a private message, type /w followed by the character's name. Your text field should change color and indiciate that you are sending that player a private message. To respond to a private message, hit the "r" key and type your message. Making friends with others will broaden your enjoyment of the game and help your character in many ways, including teaming up for quests or to defeat powerful monsters.
ConclusionEnjoy your journey through the beginning stages of the game. Take your time and enjoy the content at your own pace, while hopefully making a few friends along the way. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of a long and fruitful adventuring career. Enjoy your travels through Azeroth!
